A Message for the Membership, and 2020 QSAC National Championship Update – QSAC Updates – QSAC | Quarter Scale Auto Club

Greetings QSAC members

As 2020 is just getting started, we wanted to take the time to share a potential area of concern with the membership, as well as touch on the upcoming 2020 QSAC National Championship hosted by DFW Speedway in Burleson, Texas June 8-12, 2020.

There has been a considerable interest in the revival of the Super Truck class for 2020.  A point of concern was brought to the attention of the QSAC leadership team.  The Super Truck body offering from Mike Clark meets the dimensional requirements as documented in the QSAC Rules Package, when evaluated in an “as molded” state.  That measurement is 19.5″ for overall width, as documented on page 23 of the 2019 QSAC Rules Package.  Upon cutting the excess from the body, there is a tendency for the doghouse areas (firewall area, and forward), to flare out a bit.

We want to remind racers that it is their responsibility to be certain their bodies, when mounted, meet the requirements as posted in the QSAC Rules Package.  Whether that is controlled by Dzus fasteners, Velcro, the actual physical size of the foam bumper, or even potentially heating the body to bring the sides and/or skirts in a bit; any of these options are an acceptable method or means of making certain your Super Truck body falls within the measurements provided in the QSAC Rules Package of 19.5″ overall in width.

We are excited there is an interest and potential resurgence in Super Truck.  Regarding the upcoming 2020 QSAC Nationals, we will be treating Super Truck class in a similar manner as we did Grand National in 2019; Super Truck will be provisional based a minimum entry count of eight (8).  Once the minimum number have entered, it will be locked-in for the 2020 QSAC National Championship.

We are looking for title and class sponsors for the 2020 QSAC National Championship.  At this point and time, all slots are available.  Please keep in mind that all monies received for sponsoring the Nationals are used for the event.  That includes advertising, trophies, the town hall meeting/meal, and other expenses to support the event.  Our great sponsors are the fuel to this championship engine!  Feel free to reach out to either of us if you are interested in supporting and sponsoring the 2020 QSAC National Championship.

Additionally, look for an announcement regarding pre-entry for the 2020 QSAC National Championship in the coming weeks.

Happy New Year to all; we look forward to a great 2020 racing season!

Thank you,
