As announced on Thursday, January 2nd, 2020, there was a second rules proposal sent to the Rules Ratification Committee (RRC).
Per the By-Laws, the RRC was permitted ten (10) to discuss and deliberate over the change proposal resented. With the ten days coming to completion on Sunday, January 12th, 2020, we are pleased to announce the results of the rules change proposal.
The proposal has been voted in and will be included in the 2020 QSAC Rules Package. It is our intention to have the 2020 QSAC Rules Package published and released to the QSAC.org website by February 1st, 2020.
Please see the .pdf file below for the original presentation provided to the RRC.
Here is the record of the votes from the RRC.
Richard Coffey – NO
Douglas Murphy – YES
Todd Holloway – YES
Mark Hogue – ABSTENTION
Mike Sadler – NO
Tom Standridge – NO
Brad Boling – YES
Randall DeLapp – YES
For the sake of formal documentation, the results, without abstention are 4 in favor, and 3 against. With the addition of the abstention being given to the Co-Chairs, the final outcome is 5 in favor and 3 against.
We would like to openly acknowledge there was a typographical error in the proposal that was sent to the RRC. This error was outside of the context of the change. This discrepancy was brought to the RRC’s attention. The error was on the Top and Side View image that was included with the proposal. The image had been recreated to help with future state changes to the QSAC Rules Package. During this recreation, one dimensional value was transposed incorrectly. The overall width (outside of tire to outside of tire) was incorrectly listed at 18.50″; the value should have been 20.00″. An updated/corrected image was provided to the RRC along with the explanation of how/why the error happened. We are sharing this to be as transparent as possible. The attached .pdf file of the proposal includes the updated/corrected visual. There are no other changes from the original proposal that was presented to the RRC; only the correction to the overall width.
In closing, we, the Co-Chairs, believe this change brings all styles and designs of the sprint cars to a very similar visual outcome. We truly believe this will be a stepping point and look for this class to grow as the rules and boundaries are now more clearly defined. We look forward to the 2020 quarter scale racing season and hope to see you at the 2020 QSAC National Championship in Burleson, Texas, hosted by DFW Speedway on June 8th through the 12th.
Thank you,
