Web site upgrade

Dear Qsac Members,
We’re excited to provide you with a crucial update regarding the Qsac website. Some of you may have encountered challenges with links on our Qsac Facebook page leading to the website. Our dedicated website administrator, Steve Martin, has been diligently working to address these issues and find a resolution.
Upon a thorough review of the website’s code, we identified that the root cause lies in a Joomla update introduced last June. While this update initially ran smoothly, a security vulnerability emerged towards the end of September. To mitigate this concern, Joomla recommends migrating to their latest software version. However, this isn’t a straightforward upgrade; it involves a comprehensive transition, akin to moving from Windows 10 to Windows 11, and necessitates building anew for enhanced security and functionality.
Additionally, we’ve noted intermittent challenges faced by members using the online form on our website for joining or renewing their memberships.
In light of these developments and with the best interests of our club in mind, Steve Martin has proposed an optimal solution. We have collectively agreed to transition to a new operating system, WordPress, and embark on creating an entirely new Qsac website. This decision is the result of careful consideration and the evaluation of available options.
During this period of transition, we are committed to making the process as seamless as possible. If you experience any difficulties while signing up for new membership or renewing your existing membership, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to assist you and resolve any issues promptly, ensuring your continued access to Qsac benefits.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards these improvements. We will keep you updated on our progress and anticipate unveiling our new website to you in due course.
Regards,
