Chris Landers Announces Candidacy for QSAC Co-Chair – QSAC Updates – QSAC | Quarter Scale Auto Club

 Greetings QSAC members,

Chris Landers has officially announced his candidacy for the upcoming QSAC Co-Chair election.

Chris passed through the vetting process with flying colors, and with 100% endorsement from the Nominating Committee.

Here is a brief letter from Chris regarding his candidacy for QSAC Co-Chair.

“Hello, I would like to introduce myself, my name is Chris Landers.  I am excited to announce that I will be running for QSAC Co-Chair in the upcoming election.  I would also to take the time to tell you about myself.

I have been married to my wife Keri Landers for four years and we have two kids together, I also have two older kids.  Starting with my racing life, I am currently senior co-chair at Lagoon Park Raceway and my wife Keri is the Race Director and Treasurer.  The road leading up to where we are now all started in 1988 when I attended the very first meeting that began Capital City Racing Club, which built Lagoon Park Raceway.  When I joined the club I started out racing 1:10 scale oval from 1988-1995.  In 1996 I moved on to race go karts, after 3 track championships and numerous wins I moved on from that to big car racing.  I started out in super stock in 2000, I raced multiple classes including; Cuplites, Minimod, Minicup, and Pro Late Model.  In 2018 my wife and I had our son Conner, that is when I decided it was time for a less dangerous sport.  That is when I was led to 1/4 scale racing.  Since coming back to Lagoon Park Raceway in 2019 I have won 3 track championships.

When I am not at the track I am either at home, spending time with my family riding our RZR UTV or at my full time job as a Bodyshop manager.  I started my career in the body shop business in 1992.  In 2006 I decided I was burnt out on the bodyshop business and opened up Southern Hobbies, a R/C Hobby Shop.  I owned and operated Southern Hobbies until 2008 when a recession hit and I was forced to close down and go back into the bodyshop business.

My reasoning behind wanting to run for Co-Chair is I feel with all of my racing experience and in all types of classes I can bring a lot of new and great ideas to the table.  I will not be a “yes man”.  I will listen and be open to all ideas and complaints from my fellow racers.  I know it is impossible to make everyone happy however, I will make my decisions based on what the majority of racers want.  I love the sport and the people in it and hope to have a part in its growth.  I hope you will consider voting for me as your next QSAC Co-Chair.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me.

Thank you.
