Looking for Potential Co-Chair Candidates for the 2021 QSAC Co-Chair Election – QSAC Updates – QSAC | Quarter Scale Auto Club

Greetings QSAC members

Well, it is that time of year once again! It’s time for members to consider the possibility of running for Co-Chair of the organization. For those that may not be familiar with the process, we ask that you take a look at the organizations Bylaws; specifically page 3, Section III, Subsection A. Sub-subsection 1, paragraphs a. and b. Here is the link to the QSAC Bylaws: https://qsac.org/images/pdf/By-Laws.pdf.

For a more generic overview of the Co-Chair candidacy and nomination process, here is the Cliff Notes version; Co-Chairs serve a term of two years and one is elected each year. This allows an overlapping of terms for the Co-Chairs, and allows continuity rather than having two new Co-Chairs at the same time. The actual election starts on July 1st and ends on September 1st. Leading up the election, we reach out to ask if any member may be interested in running for Co-Chair. Any prospective candidate should reply to either sitting Co-Chair via email or Facebook Messenger.

We ask that potential candidates communicate their interest to us no later than June 1 st . We ask this in the interest of meeting the obligations outlined in the QSAC Bylaws. While this date is not documented in the Bylaws, in order to allow ample time for the nominating committee to interview perspective candidates, and in-turn is able to provide the membership with the candidates as well as a biography for their consideration when the election starts, we believe June 1st is a realistic date of commitment. Also, please understand that any individual making a public declaration via Facebook of their intention to run for QSAC Co-Chair is not a guarantee that they will actually become a candidate and be on the ballot; that choice belongs to the two Co-Chairs and their committee of three members-at-large and is an outcome of the interview process they have with potential candidates.

As an organization, the past couple of election cycles have provided multiple choices of candidates for our members to consider for their next Co-Chair. We sincerely hope the enthusiasm and interest in this role continues for the 2021 election.

We hope the start of 2021 has been good to you and your families. We’ve seen some of our Southern tracks reporting of successful practice sessions and early season track maintenance days. It’s exciting to see and hear the sound of the race engines!   While March is just getting rolling, we know all too well that time starts to move at a faster rate as spring kicks in, and goes into full throttle mode once summer starts.

As always, we hope all of our members are doing well and staying healthy. The FIVE STAR HOBBIES QSAC National Championship is still a “go” as of this writing, and there has even been national news that Texas is removing their mask mandate. Fingers crossed that this status stays in place. It is safe to say we are very excited about this upcoming race season and especially the Nationals at DFW Speedway.

Thank you,
Denny Andrews Jr.
