Rules Change Proposal Retraction and Resubmission – QSAC Updates – QSAC | Quarter Scale Auto Club

Greeting QSAC members

As announced on September 30th, 2020, we had submitted a rule change proposal to the RRC.  There was an issue with the process that was brought to the attention of the Co-Chairs.  The resultant is that the proposal has been retracted at this time.  Once the RRC members have had the time to read the retraction and why the proposal was retracted, we will resubmit the original proposal to the RRC for evaluation and consideration.

The following is the message that was sent to the RRC announcing the retraction of the proposal:

Gentlemen of the RRC
In the interest of doing our best to follow and adhere to the QSAC Bylaws, and in the interest of being as transparent as possible with you and our membership, we are retracting the proposal that has been submitted to you for your review and subsequent vote

For clarity to those that may not understand the concern that was brought to the Co-Chairs, here is the concern. The QSAC Bylaws state the following as the last line of the section pertaining to the RRC: “All members of the Ratification Committee must be current QSAC members in good standing.”.

When we presented this proposal to you, the RRC, we inadvertently missed verifying all RRC members were in good standing with their QSAC memberships. It was brought to our attention that one of the manufacturer representatives was not current with his membership. When the RRC member was contacted regarding his expired membership status, he addressed it immediately and made his membership current and up to date. We assure you this was truly an oversight and not a situation of looking the other way

Given the information provided above, we are retracting the proposal. In fairness, we do not believe this to be controversial or a rule change that will be challenged or opposed, but that is not the point; we want to correct our error in overlooking the member status of our current RRC members.

We apologize for the confusion we may have created and sincerely hope you understand and look at this as positive as we strive to maintain integrity. It is our intention to share this message with the members as well via posting on the QSAC.org website.

Thank you,
Dave Dygon
