Greetings QSAC members
It’s been a week since we shared with the membership our thoughts and concerns regarding the upcoming 2020 QSAC National Championship on June 8th-12th.
As we shared at the time, QSAC and DFW Speedway are interested in the health and well-being of our members first and foremost. In light of the continuing health concerns over the Corona Virus COVID-19, there have been continued conversations with the DFW Speedway leaders and QSAC leadership. It is with great sadness we, collectively, are announcing the cancellation of the 2020 QSAC National Championship. Full refunds will be provided to those individuals that pre-registered. Our secretary/treasurer, Doreen Brown, will expedite these refunds as quickly as possible. However, we ask your patience.
In light of the cancelation, the location for the 2021 QSAC National Championship will be DFW Speedway in Burleson, Texas. The date of the event will be June 7th – June 11th, 2021.
Originally, 2021 was scheduled to be held at Veteran’s Park in Algona, Iowa. However, discussions and concessions have been made to push Iowa out to 2022. We greatly appreciate the open dialogue and willingness to be flexible with both the DFW and Algona groups; it helped to make this choice and process a little bit easier.
This choice was not taken lightly, nor was the choice made haphazard in any way. The amount of uncertainty alone was enough that, collectively, we felt it was time to make the tough choice. This should allow for the cancellation of rooms, travel, etc. We are interested in the health and well-being of our members first and foremost. We truly believe this choice is in the best interest of all parties.
We firmly believe that good health and the continued safety of our membership is paramount, and we believe this was the best choice we could make, and have it announced in a timely fashion for all parties.
What does all this mean at the end of the day…? It means all excuses are off the table! It means there is more than adequate time for ALL of our members to make plans to be at DFW Speedway in 2021 for the 2021 QSAC National Championship! Gerald, Wayne, Mike, Tanner, and Curtis are great hosts and will be looking forward to this event in 2021!
