IQSR holds their own and retains the Cup for another year
,
With the close of the third annual QSAC National Championship, we proudly crown the champions from the respective classes.
Limited Sportsman: Jarrett Raber
East Coast Modified: Curtis “The Handler” Babbitt
Sportsman: David Bradford
Grand National: Chris Hogue
Sprint: Gerald Babbitt
The last piece of the National Championship is the QSAC Cup. A change was made for the 2018 event that put the emphasis on performance. That same theme was maintained for the 2019 event. To say that it was a tight battle is an understatement. A total of 8 points separated the top three home tracks.
At the end of the day, the group of racers from Ingalls, IN, or Indy Quarter Scale Racers (IQSR) brought the QSAC Cup back to Indiana for another year (is this where we cue up some Jim Neighbors music?).
Congrats to the group from IQSR on retaining the Cup for another year.
It should go without saying that we, QSAC, are very thankful for all of the support we have received through sponsorship of the event and respective classes.
Thank you, WCM, for your continued support of QSAC and the National Championship, as well as stepping in to sponsor the Sprint class in honor of J.R. Parsley.
Thank you, Bret Ketner and Boar Hog Racing Engines for sponsoring the Limited Sportsman class.
Thank you, Mark Duggins, Randy DeLapp and DMS Sonic Racing Chassis for sponsoring the Sportsman class.
Thank you to all of the associate sponsors (in no particular order): WCM, Outlaw Raceway Park, DMS Sonic Racing Chassis, Boar Hog Racing Engines, Lagoon Park Raceway, Ricky Bobby Racing, Water Jet Fabricating, QS Components, Dave’s Discount Motors, RC4LESS, Oak Mountain Hobbies, Team Holloway Racing and Graphics, Barth Racing Concepts, Boca Bearings, and VP Racing Fuel.
Without the support of these great sponsors, the event would not be nearly as successful
In closing, while I was not in attendance at the 2019 National Championship, I did note one very distinct aspect of the event. It was very apparent that just about all of the current chassis manufacturers were represented in some way during the week. Additionally, it appeared that all of the chassis were competitive and in contention. We are all fortunate to be involved in quarter scale racing at this time. It’s a time where quality products are being offered by numerous manufacturers. Whether it was WCM, TNT, DieTech, JR Quarterscale, Lightning, DMS Sonic, or Predator, the bottom line was a nice cross-section of manufacturers being represented for the event.
