Greetings QSAC members
As many of you are aware, we were in very unchartered territory regarding candidacy for the position of Co-Chair for the term starting this coming November 1st, 2019. In the past, it has been like pulling teeth to find willing participants for the role of Co-Chair. This year was markedly different; we had four individuals throw their name into the hat. Sounds great; right?
Well, here’s the rub…, per the By-Laws, “The nominating committee shall then present to the general membership a minimum of one and a maximum of three qualified candidates for consideration.” Given this information, a committee was formed and a lengthy process of open dialogue, along with question and answer sessions took place between the committee members, the Co-Chairs, and the potential candidates.
There is no doubt that all four of the members that threw their name into the hat have a vision for bettering our sport, along with an unbridled passion for our organization’s future. This made the committee’s job a difficult one.
Before we announce the names, we would like to personally thank each of the four members for being a potential candidate. In no particular order, thank you to Alex Livingston, Dennis Andrews Jr., Douglas Murphy, and Robert Belonga for their willingness to be a potential Co-Chair candidate. Additionally, we would like to thank the three members of the candidate committee for their time and willingness. We understand how much time, effort, and mental energy a process like this can take. It is because of members like yourselves that QSAC is what it is today, and continues to be on the upswing over the last several years. From both of us sitting in the Co-Chair positions; thank you to all of you.
It is our charge to present to the membership the best candidates to choose from to take the position of co-chair. We, the nomination committee, have come to our decision regarding who will have the opportunity to be a candidate on the ballot for this year’s election for Co-Chair. It is this committee’s decision to present to the membership the following candidates for this ballot.
Dennis Andrews Jr
Doug Murphy
We anticipate a question/answer session for the members to engage with the candidates via ¼ Scale Bench Talk on Facebook in the near future.
Thank you,
Scott Harper
